My perfect iPod shuffle case doesn’t exist?

I like my shuffle. It has come in very handle while packing. I’ll put on a podcast or three or four and the time flies with the rest of the world blocked out.

Sometimes I carry it in my purse. I want to get a clip for it because I don’t always like wearing it around my neck. I’d rather clip it to something. I know clips exist for it. [Here's one](http://www.ipodlounge.com/index.php/accessories/product/shuffleclip/). What I want is a clip that’s more like a cross between a cell phone case and one of those old cigarette holders that had a space for the pack with a separate compartment for the lighter. All the skins and cases out there cover the ipod but do nothing for the miles of cord of the lanyard and the headphones. I end up wrapping the cord around the iPod of course, but sometimes it gets undone in my bag and I end up with a tangled mess to undo every time I want to listen. I want a case that has built-in storage for the headphone wire and lanyard, and a clip on the outside for those times I don’t want to wear the thing around my neck.

Does such an animal exist? I’ve looked at as many of the iPod-centric sites as I could find.

Not perfect, but an improvement on the “miles of cord”. I switched out my earbuds for a pair of Sony’s Fontopia MDR-EX71SL/WK earbuds. The cord for them is in two pieces. One that is short and then an extension that adds (or subtracts) about three feet. When I wear my shuffle around my neck, the cord is just long enough to reach without hanging out all over.

This doesn’t address the fact that you don’t want to wear it around your neck, but it does help. :-)
